These are the factory guidelines.  You'd have to be a rather poor mechanic to
allow a car with one side to have -0.4 camber and the other 0.8 camber and
still claim that it's "within factory specs".  These guidelines are way to
vague to make a good alignment spec.

If you try for these numbers, don't give them a range, ask for specifics.
Most shops worth the money should be able to do it.  If they won't, take your
business elsewhere.  It's important to note that I say to specifically set
the Caster first, which is contrary to normal procedure.  This is because on
the front, Caster is more important than Camber for a good setup in the
Miata.

In a sense, they both are.  But one is more specific.
