Okay Bill...here's more info..sorry! The 45' should read minutes..not feet. Here it is in a nutshell. 1994 1.8l Miata with 23k miles. New starter, under warranty last week Monday. 4 days of starts great, 5th day same old problem. Replaced suspicious kill switch with new switch. No better. Wiring of kill switch was 12 gauge..not wimpy stuff. Car bone cold...starts every time. Car short trips around town starts 95% of the time. Car Hot..like Sorry Vista to Tucson, AZ (1 hour trip) Starts 50% of the time. Turn key, airbag light comes on, goes out, the radio display dims, click. No crank. Repeat turning key 5-6 times, may crank, probably not. Tried turning on headlights to see if they'd dim when trying to crank, no crank, no dimming, normal magnetic click. Some readers have suggested kill switch as culprit. The culprit has been removed...problem remains. Dealer will have it for try number 4 on Thursday. Clutch switch checks okay, battery was load tested okay, the diagnostic computer was hooked and finds the alternator to be doing it's thing too. It's 80 degrees here today, and Arizona gets hotter from here on out 'til October, so this needs a serious cure folks. Your input is seriously appreciated, thanks!!!!!
