A great top cleaner/dressing is Meguiars #40. In our part of the country 
it is hard to find. I ordered it and think it was well worth it. ( By the 
way, it's approved by my friend Phredd who borrows all my good stuff)

Another cleaner I haven't used in a long time but did on my MG top is 
Ivory soap. I'd apply it with a terry cloth  like a paste wax except very 
sparingly and rinse it well with a sponge and water. As I remember it did 
ok on British plastics. Hey, the top looked new when I sold it.
