My new Black '96 has 1700 miles on it at this point. Great car! reminds me of the fun I had witha '58 TR-3a. Oil changed at 500 miles. So far I've added a VooDoo textured shift knob, MMM door sill/rear window/trunk protectors, MMM padded arm rest, MMM grill, and Rougue Speed Akimito Ram Air filter (absolutely great!). I've ordered the front air dam from Roebuck and the retracting license plate holder from J&S. Two issues remain: 1. My forearm is too big to allow me to access the oil filter. And I'd want a remote oil filter kit installed anyhow (have one on my restored '73 Dodge Challenger). All I've found is the Brainstorm offering which seems ridiculously expensive ($130 std/$280 with cooler). Anyone know of reasonable alternatives? ( I'm not eager to fabricate one myself by adapting a Fram kit and adding a check valve to prevent backdraining which would deprive the overhead cams of oil at start up.) 2. I read a post here in the miata.net about someone who had a local muffler shop make up a a catback system for him for about $100. I tried to e-mail him for additional info but no joy. I expect a 2" or better pipe was hung off the catalytic converter and a small high flow muffler attached with a chrome exhaust, but what muffler was used? Was the stock chrome tip grafted on? Anyone have amplification? Any help would certainly be appreciated! -=[Bob]=- allmanr@sups28.ellsworth.af.mil
