hello, My search for a 1996 white R ended monday night. I am now one of you! (be afraid. be very afraid.) :-) Since I am following the MCA break-in regimen, I am not yet having as much fun as I *could* be ;-) I have taken it over 4000 RPM exactly twice now (a little over 200 miles on it). I have also avoided hard braking - the brakes were rather soft when I got it (8 miles) but seem to be improving with use. I don't know how I will be able to go 1500 miles and only go over 4000 RPM once per 100 miles. The car really *wants* to go higher. :-) I was a bit worried that the suspension would be too stiff, but it's not at all! I love it - it's just right...well, maybe it could be a *bit* stiffer ;-) I wish the 1-2 shift was smoother. Looks like it will be Redline MTL for me before long. Or maybe I should try using the clutch. Bwah Ha ha Haaa!!! (just kidding, kinda) I got the oil filter wrench. My shop manual should be in in about a week. I would like to switch to synthetic oil - how long before I can safely do this? I assume 10W30 is good for the Houston climate? Where can I get oil filters in the Houston area? Where's a Miata Maniac when you need one? ;-) Dwayne 96 White R Team Bwah Ha ha Haaa!!!
