Hey there.  I subscribed to this list a few days ago and have enjoyed 
(although not always understood) the ongoing discussions.

I am seriously considering the purchase of a Miata with the intention of 
having some aftermarket work done on it to soup it up.  I'm not a car guy 
so I'll undoubtedly pay someone to do the installation.

>From the 95 to the 96 they went from (as I understand it, being an uncar 
guy) 116hp to 133hp by increasing the compression rather than other 
methods.  One of my friends suggested that I investigate what impact this 
will have on aftermarket turbochargers and superchargers for the 96 model 
and whether one can still expect as dramatic an increase in hp as 
discussed in a number of articles and pages on various miata web sites. 
(ie. +~50%)  Has anyone bought a '96 and had a turbo our supercharger 
installed on it?

Also, I am located just outside NYC if anyone has any recommendations 
regarding local places to work on the car aftermarket.
