A friend of mine with a '90 silver A package had to have her reverse light switch replaced to pass Virginia state automotive inspection. She was charged $100 by Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington, a rather notorious dealer that I won't go near. I told her I thought this was a "recall" item and that the dealer should have replaced the switch free of charge. When she confronted Rosenthal's service manager, he said that the recall item was a "shim" and that the switch would only have been replaced free under warranty. What's the truth? Thanks.
