I'm pretty skinny so this may not apply to you, but it might give some insight... When I'm changing the oil: The car is on ramps. After I've let the oil drain from the pan, I take the old filter off from underneath the car. I have one of those wrenchs that fits on a 1/4" drive wrench. I usually spill enough oil to fill up a couple of paper towels but not much. Putting the new filter on, I drop it through the front of the car and squeeze my other (left) arm under the intake manifold. Then I get my right arm back under and manipulate the filter back on. Assuming my hands aren't too oily, I can tighten it sufficiently with my hands. I usually have a little bruise in the middle of my forearm, but the whole procedure only takes a few minutes... |=====================================| | "Real Men Use Notepad" | |Tony Schreiber, WebMaster/TechSupport| |TheNet Digital Services, Inc. | |email: dune@thenet.net | |http://www.thenet.net/~dune | |=====================================|
