thanks a lot for a mile of good answers. Incredible as it seems, it is the
truth that the whole light assembly is cheaper than just the lens!  I got
the whole assembly for $65 from Roebuck instead of $85 for the lens from the
same source.  Mazda  quoted above $100 for the lens and $80 for the light
assembly.

I will spare the bandwidth for a 'WTS: Miata light assembly without lens'
message though, but if anyone is interested, it will be cheap!
