The 1.8s use a hot wire mass air flow sensor. Doesn't actually *look* any less restrictive to me. The Bosch ones are very free flowing--just a tube with a coarse screen on each end and a hot wire in the middle. The Miata one has all sorts of venturis and stuff in the middle. bill
