I need your help -

I've got a 96 M with the original tires -

The brochure says the tires are 15 inch alloy wheels with P195/50R15 high 
performance tires (what ever that means).

I've been watching the list and there is discussion about 26 psi in certain 
tires.  My question - is this: what psi should I have for my tires?  What is the 
optimum psi I should have?  

I'm getting ready to "go wherever the wind blows" me for a few days and want to 
make sure the tires are set properly (I've already had to have the car realigned 
at 800 miles.)

Also, my dealer is sending me notices that they recommend the oil be changed at 
1000 miles, then every 3000.  (I am religious about those 3000 mile oil 
changes).  Do I need to get the oil changed after the first 1000 miles? (It's 
already got 1500 miles on it.)  If so, let me know so I can get it done before I 
take off.
