Joseph & Guppy said: ***** But then quintessential Miata-head Bill Cardell moved his business from back East out here to the Rockies. Talking to him shortly after the move, he made a remark about the performance hit his cars have taken since the move to his new high-altitude home (approximately 5000'). BONG! Finally it became clear: Those glowing reviews all come from sea level writers surrounded by fat oxygen-laden air! Maybe there should be a Road & Track Denver office. The puzzle is solved. I cease feeling like a power pig. The moral of the story is, the Miata is perky at sea level, but be prepared to get your wrenches and wallet out if you move up here. ***** I'm really curious how much of a seat-of-the-pants and/or actual hp difference we're talking about here. When I moved from Denver to the Pacific NW a few years ago, I didn't notice the opposite effect in my Honda Civic. (Didn't have the Miata yet.) Any comments from Lance and Bill or other friends in high places? How about those who have travelled cross-country and passed through Colorado? Did you notice any dip in performance? I'm not disputing your impressions, Joseph. I just want to make sure that what you say is true, so if I ever decide to move back to Colorado I can start saving the msu's for a turbo and a visit to Bill. ;-) Steve '93 red
