I had to go back and look at last month's archive of Miata list messages to see what it was that Gary Fischman had said to be such a pain in the ass for Norman. Let's see, Gary had said... [ So let me just say for the record (and I'm sure most of you already [ know this.) [ [ Miata Club of America has not made any effort to sponsor, support, [ fund, assist, or in any other way get involved with Miata.net. Well, no surprises here. I don't see any links or pages for the MCA or any signs of MCA sponsorship in the miata.net web pages. But I do see Bill Cardell's The Dealer Alternative, Brainstorm and other vendors and sponsors proudly showing their links/pages at the Miata.net site. Gary continues... [ This just proves that serving the Miata Club membership is not the [ primary focus of MCA. If it were, they would encourage people to check [ out the Miata.net listserv and Web site. I agree with Gary's comments. I find it particularly strange that a magazine which claims to be serving the good of the Miata community, has yet to mention such a wonderful resource as www.miata.net. Finally, Gary says... [ Bottom line - if it doesn't generate revenue for MCA, they won't pay [ much attention to it. Just more evidence that MCA is just another name [ for a quarterly publication. The "C" is really a misnomer. I have to say that this comment was a bit harsh, but to a fun-loving, Miata-owning, MCA member/subscriber like me, I have to admit that all I see from my yearly dues to the MCA is a quarterly magazine that has many rehashed topics that had previously been discussed in this list. I'm with Gary...I find find the word "Club" in "Miata Club of America" a bit deceiving. To me, this list is more of a club than the MCA claims to be. But I hope Norman G proves Gary wrong when he said "...if it doesn't generate revenue for MCA, they won't pay much attention to it." Maybe one of these days, the MCA *will* decide to officially recognize the miata.net URL or the Miata list in their magazine, despite all the MCA bashing that occurs here. When that issue comes out, perhaps they'll gain back some of the respect I've lost today for the MCA founder, Norman "Think about it, friend."
