Hello All, My ’90 miata has developed a strange squeaking noise from the front wheel (or maybe just the left front wheel) when braking. The problem only occurs when the brakes have been used for a while and have reached their proper working temperature. Note that the car has no trouble braking at all, it does so without any yanking of the wheel to one side or anything like that. If I activate the brakes hard the noise seems to go away for a while. You may argue that it’s not a major problem, and sure, I can live with the noise, but when I experienced brake failure in my father’s old Volvo, I promised myself that I would not let that happen to me again. Also, ever since the car had its 100.000 km checkup, there has been a clicking noise in the radio. The clicking frequency is proportional with the engine speed. This is obviously radio interference (it does not happen when listening to a tape and is less pronounced on weaker stations), but where does it come from? Could it possibly be another manifestation of defective spark plug wires? If anyone has any bright ideas, I sure would appreciate knowing about it Greetings from Denmark, where, contrary to popular belief, polar bears absolutely do NOT roam the streets.
