Norman, You posted the following to the Miata.net list in 7/1/96: >Gary, > >You continually print comments like these and then wonder >why we don't join with you in partnership. > >Think about it, friend. > >Norman G I don't understand. I read the previous postings re: Miata.net in the MCA Mag. Based on this, and on past postings from the Miata.net list, and my own experience as an MCA member, many of the comments posted here contain valid criticisms. Rather than being defensive towards the comments, the MCA Magazine could stand to benefit from the comments of these Miata enthusiasts. Both forums could benefit. There should be some level of synergy. We on the Miata.net are clearly dedicated Miata owners - the most valuable type. It seems to me, that with the following that the Miata.net has developed, it has become a much more influential source of information for Miata owners. (I do realize that the Miata.net represents a portion of Miata owners with access to this medium. The numbers, however, will only continue to increase.) The Miata.net site is dynamic, and responsive to suggestions from its 'members'. Personally, this medium (and the persons involved with setting up the site), is of greater benefit to myself. I could ennumerate the downfalls of the MCA Magazine, however, many you may already have heard previously on the Miata.net list (i.e., timeliness of delivery (lack thereof), often repeated topics, poor quality of photos, typographical errors, ....) I believe that it could only help the MCA Magazine to, at the least, give appropriate recognition to the Miata.net list, and subject material obtained therefrom. Surely, you realize that the Miata.net list can exist (and flourish) independent from the MCA. Its growing membership are obvious. In short, the Miata.net and its 'members' have developed a level of credibility. Whereas, that of the MCA does not appear to be terribly healthy. Miata owners will always seek information about their vehicles - but please make it a positive experience for us to read your magazine, not a disappointment.
