Brian,
There is a very tall person that belongs to
our Miata Club (Trillium). He told me that he
could not get the seat lowered, and, therefore
he had the steering wheel raised. He says he is
quite comfortable in his Miata this way.

I'm really close to purchasing a 1994 Miata B.  I love everything about
the car, but I would do anything to get about 1" more leg room -  my
right knee needs some of the space the steering wheel is taking.  Does
anyone have any recommendations for aftermarket seats that provide a
lower driving position?  Or is there a kit/procedure for lowering the
factory seats?  I've searched the archives at miata.net without success.
 Any help is greatly appreciated.
