The swirl remover is #9; #7 is the "show car glaze" non-abrasive polish.

True, though in my experience (just yesterday morning) #9 is more of 
a pain than #7.  No matter how soon you start rubbing the #9, you end
up with a pattern of little "dots" that can only be removed with a
good deal of work (by hand).  I did find that a smooth cotton cloth
was more effective than terry cloth, but it makes me nervous to use
smooth cloth.

This is the second time I used #9; the first time on my new red '96
paint I didn't really do it right.  This time I just did the hood,
trunk, and fender "tops" with #9 and it really made a big difference.
