FWIW...Ford bought controling interest in Jaguar a few years back and did a fine job of 
leaving the good points alone and improving the bad points.  Of course Jaguar had more 
room to improve than Mazda IMHO.  I believe (hope) that Ford will use the same 
approach at Mazda.  Although I can't understand why, Mazda has been struggling 
financially for the last couple of years.  Hopefully a little management 
assistance/cash will help Mazda keep producing cars that respond to enthusiastic 
driving as well as they have in the past.  (even the 323 responds to enthusiastic 
driving).
