Since I've been away from the list for such a long time, I'm sure you've all begun to miss my regular posting on what *I* am listening to in my car. :) At least I'm vain enought to think so, and no, I don't have a single album by Carly Simon. Here goes: 1. Pixies - Surfer Rosa. Considered by Pixies fans to be their best album. I'm not a huge fan, but it is a very good album. This band broke up and became leader singer Black Francis went solo to become Frank Black, and bassist Kim Deal went on to found the Breeders. 2 and 3. Kiss - Alive. Double album from 1975, which was the epitome of 1970's glam/theatrical rock. Kiss was the first band I ever saw in concert, at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, when I was all of 13. That would've been around 1976. 4. Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstacy. After 2 CDs worth of Kiss, I need something mellow to come down to. Haunting lyrics, haunting ethereal voice. Fantastic album! 5. The Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols. Punk rock at its high (low?) point. Need I say more? 6. Gang Of Four - Entertainment! & Yellow EP. Contains the original Entertainment! album, plus the extra added bonus of their excellent Yellow EP. These guys were great. This album has been reissued on the Infinite Zero label, which was founded by harDCore icon, Henry Rollins. They have a great catalog if you're into hard to find stuff. ---------------------------------------------------------------- | | "Smell the burning flesh.
