From: Sam Sharp Subject: HR Speaker Mod Date: Mon, 2 Sep 1996 17:20:48 -0500
This is a report on the results of the Headrest Speaker modification done by Jeff Anderson. Originally my job was scheduled for Aug 30. Then Jeff realized thet there was a long weekend in there, so he told me to send it early and he'd try to get it done sooner. He did the mod the same day it came in, and then made a special trip to the PO before it closed. It was only gone from here 6 days! Besides modifying the radio to send full frequencies to the HR speakers, he sent me extensive instructions on how to determine if the factory wiring was wrong. It was, and if you have factory headrest speakers yours most likely is, too. I sent him back a diagram of the wiring as it was, and he returned instructions detailing how to correct it. The end result is amazing. The sound coming from the headrests is now much fuller, and there is no need to turn the headrests all the way up. I thought the sound from my Clearwater door and headrest speakers was good already, but I hadn't heard anything! Before, with the top down at 80-90 I was just able to hear sound coming from the headrests, but now it's good enough to actually enjoy the music. I used to set the volume on the door speakers and then adjust the HR to fill in. Now it's just the opposite. I control the volume level with the headrests, and adjust the balance to fill in a little bass from the doors. It's truely amazing. Jeff, you're a hero! Sam and Baby, who says "I don't need no steeking door speakers"! \014 ==============================================================================
