Subject: Pinging at 14 Degrees

I have just had the dealer set the timing of my 96 to 14 degrees and 

have experienced pinging upon hard acceleration. I had been using 87

octane and have now switched to 93.I was going to have the dealer

change to 18 degrees, but am now wondering if I'll experience worse

pinging at 18.



When we advanced the timing on my son's 90 to 18 degrees, we did not

experience any pinging.



I know that a bunch of you have experienced advancing the timing and

am looking for some advise.
