OK - this is really painful to tell but true: I had a Ford Mustang and it needed new tires all around. Being the "smart" shopper, I found my best price ( including a road hazard warranty and lifetime rotation and balance ) at a Sam's Wholesale Club. I bought the best tires that I could afford and I was really happy, as long as the car was parked, because they looked great. I took the car back to Sam's twice after the original purchase and at my location that is a really awsome comittment of time - HOURS. They had only one of the tires from the set of four replaced, thinking that it was out of round ( it probably wasn't ). Drove around for another week, maybe it'll go away, it didn't. Decided to spend some more cash but this time at a "real" tire dealership, just to have the tires checked and rebalanced. The very first thing that the service technician asked me was why I had my tires inflated to 40 psi !!!! And of course the tires really were balanced. So, all that was done to correct my problem was to deflate the tires a bit. Live and learn - this was a lesson that I won't forget. And if you haven't checked the air pressure - check it - it's supposed to be 26 psi.
