I thought the 'M' in M-Edition was for the M in Mike...the guy who thought up the M-Edition...not for Miata or Mazda. I know I read this in some car mag, but can't remeber which one. I don't think it is wrong to use miata colors or M logos on other mazdas, at least as long as they don't come out with a Starlight Blue Mica Mazda MPV Minivan M-Edition:) Matt 96M ---------- From: miata@list.miata.net on behalf of Mx5mike@aol.com Sent: Monday, September 30, 1996 8:14 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: What next - Merlot Mica pickups? Has anyone noticed how Mazda is incorporating little bits of the Miata - surely one of their most recognizable cars - into their other product lines? OK, the M-edition MX-6 was acceptable. Even to the point of having the Miata-style "M" on the seats and fenders. But the 626 LX-5 edition AND the Protege LX-5 edition? Excuse me - LX-5? What is that supposed to make me think of? Not MX-5, surely. What's up next from Mazda - the British Racing Green Millenia, complete with Nardi wood trim? And hey, let's not forget that the Millenia was going to be the flagship of their new upscale corporate line (a la Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus) which was going to be called "Amati." Everybody knows what that's an anagram for, right? Coming soon - A, B, and C package pickups! I guess you gotta just stick with a winner. . .
