Item Subject: cc:Mail Text Hello: After receiving so many helpful replies on my initial query for information regarding the 92A Yellow model we purchased (Tweety) , I thought I'd go back to the well once more. In the meantime I wanted to say I've been overwhelmed by the help I've gotten. I've also taken the time to: =========================== 1. Joined the Miata Club of America yesterday. 2. Ordered back issues of the Miata Magazine for all of the 92 issues (3) and all of the existing 96 issues + the Tech Guide. Hopefully this will bring me up to date. 3. Spoke last night to Jeff Crisconi of the Peak to Peak local Miata club. Jeff is sending me a few back issues of the local newsletter and I think my wife and I will join. They apparently have 2 other Yellow's (but no Yellow AT's) so we'll be in good company. Wanted to point out that the phone and address for Jeff on the miata.net is wrong. Can someone update this? Jeff lives in Denver and has a different address and phone. I had a hard time finding him. Info from Miata.Net: Peak to Peak ZIPS: 800-806 Jeff Crisconi P. O. Box 20301 Boulder, CO 80308 303-651-2659 4. Emailed with Bonnie Lutz of the Yellow Car Registry to try to register my car and find out if any previous owners (2-3) have registered. Apparently there are 1511 yellows out there! 5. Purchased a cute Miata key chain from the Crazy Red Italian place for my wife as a surprise. I can't believe how MUCH she's in love with this car! May purchase the horns as the Miata's horn is somewhat anemic. 6. Rode around all last weekend with the top down. My wife never let me drive. Oh well, its IS her car.... Put about 250 miles on the car on mostly back roads. Questions: ========= 1. Have thought about upgrading my A to an A+ (as someone else calls his Yellow) by doing the following: a. Electric windows b. Electric mirrors c. Power antenna d. Headrest speakers. e. Tonneau Top? Who's is best? Would be interested in knowing if others have done this to base or A models. I'd be interested in finding our parts and labor costs. I think the headrest speakers would be the easiest as I'm sure my radio already has a knob for the headrest volume which tells me the wiring is in the radio. I'm guessing I just need headrests and some wires to lead from them to the radio? The mirrors and windows would be more complex but would be lots of fun to do. My wife would really enjoy it. I'm guessing it's some minor parts, motors, and wiring? And the radio antenna can't be much either can it? Any information would be greatly appreciated. 2. Want to know where to get catalogs of parts, upgrades, etc... for my car. I've scanned the miata.net but haven't seen much there for me to get. any names, address, and phone numbers of companies with catalogs would be appreciated. Does Mazda have a catalog also? 3. Magazines, Except for the Miata magazine from the MCA, are there any other auto publications that cater to the Miata? I checked my local magazine store and saw all kinds of Porsches, BMW, Mustang, etc... but nothing for Miata's or Miata-like cars. 4. Sill Plates - Where's the best place to get some nice ones? 5. Can one order replacement Yellow Miata floormats from Mazda? My car's original ones with Yellow are in decent condition, but a new pair for my wife for Christmas would be great. 6. Can I retrofit the real nice radios the newer Miata's have? The ones with the silver looking face plate with the speed-sensitive radios/cd's, etc.? Anyplace besides Mazda? 7. A trunk light, I really need a trunk light... Ideas? Or just get a mini-mag lite and keep it in the center console. Thanks for putting up with all the questions. I'm in digest mode so If you'd like to send a response to me also at tom_vervaeke@hp.com in addition to the miata list I'd appreciate it.
