When I had my other car in for service (the 1988 626-LX with 226,000 miles on

it), I asked the dealer about the LX-5, etc.  His explanation was that the

only distinguishing feature of this marketing promotion was the 5-speed

transmission, hence 626 LX-5, etc.  It is strictly a marketing promo and with

that exception the cars are the same as the LX editions with auto trans.



Mazda does make good cars!!
