From: "Harry Yates" Subject: New Owner... Hello! Date: Fri, 4 Oct 1996 00:52:50 -0500
Hello Everyone. My wife and I just purchased a 1991 (knock 'em dead) RED Miata yesterday. The car has been kept very well with no accidents, dings or paint blemishes. The car has 117000 km (73000 miles) and doesn't look it. Kudos to the previous owner! :) The car has always been garage kept, and never driven in the snow. We live in a mild climate (Vancouver, BC). Well, in true Vancouver monsoon fashion, it poured today. We noticed a slight amount of mildew just beside the seatbelt post next to the folding top mechanism. We thought, no problem, we could fix that. Well, in the heavy rain, the fabric was quite wet:( It wasn't leaking into the car, as everything was dry. Is this considered normal for a convertible?? As the car is parked outside :( we're a bit concerned. Any advice would be appreciated. I've been through the archives on this, and I didn't see a lot of leak problems. How leakproof is a convertible roof? Thanks in advance, Harry. --------------------------------------------------------- Harry Yates, Langley, BC, Canada '90 Syncro Westfalia www: http://www.bcit.bc.ca/~hyates '87 Golf Diesel email: hyates@bcit.bc.ca '91 Miata \014 ==============================================================================
