I recognized the same problem you describe--about five minutes after

installing my roll bar.  All I could see in my mirror was "REWOPOTUA".

I tried an assortment of devices to relocate the Miata mirror, then

gave up and got a glue-to-the-windshield replacement mirror at the

local Pep Boys for $20.  Works fine.
