The radio on-switch jumper-wire fix does work. In addition to my article in MCA's Tech issue (edited) the full details are at the Miata.net's Garage section, then Audio. While doing my head rest service to the Miata's radio I've seen notes inside of some radios from a national repair center showing that the radio had been sent to them as many as three times for that problem.
