Item Subject: cc:Mail Text Hello: Since posting my question to the list for some help on the new power antenna and it's real height; several folks have asked me what the cost was. Hey, it was cheap! Tommy at Roebuck sold me the Mazda OEM power antenna (Made by Harada!) for $50. Shipping was just a few bucks. I thought that was pretty cheap compared to the replacemnt item I needed once a long time ago for my 1985 RX7. The reasons for tossing the stock, non-power unit: 1. Nothing for the punks to twist off. 2. It's easier to take the hard top on and off when there's no antenna in the way. Here in Colorado I've actually put my hard top on and off several times already this "winter". One day it's 60F and the next icy and 5F. Besides, the yellow hardtop gets so much notice! 3. I want to get a nice car cover. Won't the non-power antenna mast have to be removed? 4. I can tell folks my 92A Yellow is really a 92B Yellow and confuse them. I'll then admit it's really just an A+. Reasons for NOT tossing our the non-power antenna: 1. The old one is much taller and really is much better on the distant AM stations. I live 60 miles S of Denver and I can no longer get all the good AM stations I used to. Oh well... 2. It adds about 1 lb to the Miata's weight (for the weight conscious). 3. It'll set you back about $50. That's about the price of one tire. Regards, Tom Vervaeke 92A+ \014 ==============================================================================
