From: Todd Barney Subject: Air bag disable switch Date: Fri, 1 Nov 1996 10:30:15 -0500
Haven't seen this mentioned on this topic yet... Ford has a passenger air-bag disable switch on their full-size pickups for 1997 (and maybe 1996?) The new F150's. You can turn off the airbag with a key, and re-arm it the same way. The stated purpose is to allow you to put a rear-facing child seat there. An indicator glows on the dash to let you know that the bag is disabled. Now, I don't know if they have plans to offer it on the Ranger pickups, but if they do, that is the same truck as the Mazda. So, it stands to reason that Mazda has the wherewithall to provide an air-bag disable switch. I say, if it's good enough for 2-seater trucks, it's good enough for 2-seater cars. -- Todd & MIATOY '91 Crystal White A Team MCA Team Lone Star Team Moo Team 100k Reinforce positive behavior: Reward turn signals. \014 ==============================================================================
