A question about alarms.



Upon arriving home yesterday, I noticed that my miata was giving me the 

same chirp that you get when you press the 'lock' button, yet have 

disengaged the alarm on the toggle switch.  I looked at the toggle switch 

and the red LED was lit, not blinking.  I moved the switch to the valet 

position, pressed lock, got no response.  I then moved the switch to the 

impact on position, hit the lock button, got nothing.  I finally pressed 

the headlight switch on the remote and then immediately pressed the lock 

button, and everything worked just fine.  What does all this mean?  Is 

there a ghost in the machine?
