Is >there a ghost in the machine? > >DeLoris > > > Was it chirping in response to you pressing a button, or on its own ? Mine has started failing to arm when I hit the lock button. Gives a different beep (as if a door was open ?) and does not lock the doors. If I hit the unlock button, then the lock button it locks and arms. This seems to occur if I wait a bit after I turn off the key before trying to lock / arm (like the amount of time it takes to raise the top, zip the window, and empty the trunk). Last time I checked, the dealer still had a new alarm module "on order" for my car. Perhaps Tommy (official parts dood of miata.net) can check and see if there IS an updated module available - or if the module is on back-order or something. BTW, My sons were astonished the other evening when they saw me pull into the driveway with the lights on. "The lights go up and down ! Cool". They had not ridden in the car or seen it driven at night. I don't know where they thought the lights WERE, but they thought the pop-ups were neat. But then they are easy to amaze (ages 6 and 7). I love this spelling checker, it want to replace "parts dood" with "parts doodad". One day I will hit the wrong button and call Tommy "the official parts doodad of miata.net" :-) .
