Speaking of one's favorite FauVee in the snow, when I lived in Stuttgart (Deutschland), I used to drive my Neun Elfer (911, the mother of all VWs) in the winter with the old Pirelli P7s, (state of the art in 1971), they were the worst snow tires :-}. Traction was never a problem, directional stability was, I spun alot on my way to work, but I never got stuck in any snow piles. All that rear weight bias helped (it's like carrying 300 lbs of sand in your trunk). One snowy day, I decided to play and took the car for a lap of the Solitude Ring, where they used to race Formula 1 in the 50's, (it was on the way to/from work), it took me an hour to get around, I nearly gave up and walk home. My favorite snow cars? toss up between the Fiesta (Fiasco) and the pea souped green 914. I used to be young and stupid, - Steve.
