I am sure that you can buy in-dash CD players now with electronic shock protection. Might have to buy a top-line unit from someone like Alpine, but it should be available. Mike should not let rough roads keep him from a CD player. Dennis '96M Team-factory-cd-player-has-not-skipped-yet >> Yes DAT was a wonderful-dead on arrival - format. It was mechanically too involved for mobile applications, or real portable use, and still a tape. In a Miata, the reality of theft is also another matter, some of the discs I have are irreplaceable, if stolen I am screwed (been there, done it) at least I can replace a stolen minidisc with another copy. A cd is really too fragile for a car's environment, almost everyone I have ever seen really damaged, was a car passenger. So the problem really goes a little further than just skipping. Tim G and The Fly Team -No I don't work for Sony Team -you can't go running with a Cd no matter how much skip memory you've got. Team -listening to rare stuff, that no-one else does!! \014 ==============================================================================
