Greetings!

  Ref the volleys of email flying back and forth about being able to drive 

your Miata with the belt off the supercharger:

  Yes, the engine will run.  Poorly-tuned Yugos and Trabants (how many of you 

have ever seen one of those?) will pass you but you can drive your car.  This 

applies if you have a roots-type blower (Sebring) or a screw-type blower 

(Autorotor). 

  I speak from experience.  My old Camden roots-type blower seized while I was 

in northeast Kansas.  I drove the car 800 miles to Austin, TX.  It can be done 

although it is no fun....
