From: (none) Subject: Re: Connector for stock stereo Date: (none)
David Sinn asked about connectors for the stock stereo earlier today. I gave some info about that last month. See my post (part) below: Subject: Miata Radio Plugs Date: Sat, 16 Nov 1996 21:38:17 -0500 From: Jeff Anderson To: miata@list.miata.net I've been asked many times where to find the plugs for the back of the Miata radio. Today I saw some of the shelf at the local Pep Boys store. A set of two are in one package, i.e., the smaller H.R. speaker plug and the larger power and door speakers plug. A plug for the CD was not included. The package label: $9.99 MWH-856CL Car Stereo Wire Harness (note: not a harness, just a few inches of wire) MX-5 Miata 1989 - 95 Ai American International 1040 Avenida Acaso Camarello, CA 93012 A paper inside the package gives the pin-out connections for the radio's requirements and for the speakers. I meant to write down what the paper said about the head rest speakers + and - connections so that I could check to see if they were correct when I got home to look at my records. Now that I'm home I see that I didn't write enough down to tell for sure. However, for their H.R. plug: violet right H.R. (+) Violet/black right H.R. (-) green left H.R. (+) green/black left H.R. (-) The above information is correct, and if I recall the package correctly the paper inside says the same thing. ---snip--see orig. post for more--- -- Jeff Anderson @ @ @ @ @@@@@ @ Arlington, VA @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ 91 Silver, 92 Blue @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ MCA, Capital Chapter @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ M Club #97 Curer of the Miata's bad head rest sound, e-mail for info.
