Subject: retrofit ABS/Torsen;disable/enable ABS

Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry about ABS effectiveness.

While there was no clear consensus, the responses were very informative.



No one, however, indicated whether these systems can practically be

retrofitted to a car lacking them, such as a base model.  What are the

economics of such a retrofit?  Does anyone know anything about this?

This may be an important issue for me if I can't find a '96 at this time.

The answer may also be interesting to many readers besides me. 



An interesting point was also alluded to among the responses: can ABS be

"turned on and off"  to suit driving conditions and driver

mood/preferences?  This might be very useful if it were convenient to do.
