Subject: paint fade and tight drivers window

I have a red 91 which was parked outside for many years. My paint has 

faded very badly [despite regular carnuba] and it appears to have 

never received a clear coat.  Is this so, or is the Mazda painting 

process crummy?  As an aside have any others experienced paint fading 

on their cars (especially on the plastic pieces)? Can anyone suggest 

a cost for repainting with a clear coat...roughly?



Also, my drivers side window has been giving me grief.  To roll it 

down requires great strength and it has gotten stuck before in the 

down position.  When I dismantled the door I found the cable inside 

had popped out of it's bracket, so I replaced it and nothing has 

changed.  Rolling it down past halfway is nearly impossible so I just 

drive with the darn window up.  Any suggestions or similar 

experiences?  Thanks
