From: (none) Subject: '96 M-Edition Owners PLEASE READ AND RESPOND Date: (none)
Hi all you lucky folks who also own Starlight Mica Miatas! If you'd take a few minutes to notify us if you're experiencing this problem to any degree - or even if you're not, we'd appreciate it immensely! Please include your geographical location in your email to me. I've had a problem with my FM radio since purchasing the car in late June. The best way I can describe it is this: when listening to a song on the radio, the sound will be alternately GREAT stereo from all speakers, to something sounding sorta like a $19.95 radio. It's kinda subtle at times, like maybe you might just be imagining it ... but you're not. The CD player is fantastic - the tape player is too ... but the radio reception seems to cut in and out (if you have the problem, my description will seem familiar to you undoubtedly). I know that there are lots of '96 M-Edition owners who subscribe to this list ... what I'd like to know is if you experience this same phenomenon, and to what degree. Have you mentioned it to your dealer? What have they said? Another M-edition owner has contacted me because he recalled that I had this problem. He experiences the same problem as I have had from the onset. We thought that if we compare notes, and do some independent investigation among our number, we will be able to determine if this is some problem with the Pioneer units, an installation problem, wiring, etc. or just what the deal is ... Please contact me with symptoms, any concerns, possibly solutions, etc. Once I know how widespread this is - I'll synopsize the whole thing for anyone intersted and disperse the information, along with a list of names of those reporting similar problems, and to be fair - a full report of '96 M owners who have no such problem. Thanks a lot! Kathy
