Curious to know if anyone has experienced something similar to this scenario:

Upon startup my 91 Miata (stock) runs strong with oil pressure showing

about 80lbs. After running hard for about 10 minutes the oil pressure drops

and the car loses power- especially going up hill. The gauge shows pressure

dropping to about 40lbs and never rising all the way to the rev limit (7400

on my tach.)



About the car:

Bone stock. 66k miles. It has been run very hard for the last year (lots of

road racing) and moderately hard for the previous four (track events and

autoXing.) Compression runs 147 - 150. No smoke. No engine work.



Any ideas on where to begin my search are greatly appreciated.
