The earlier cars here came with the screwed on antenna. I have to take mine off when I put the car cover on, but other than that, why bother? Fixed antennas don't get jammed, they're cheap to replace when bent, weigh less - why change it? It's longer than the power one as well, so it should get better reception (5/8 vs 1/4, do I remember that right?). Don't change it unless you really NEED an antenna that moves - spend the money on something like a Voodoo knob or K&N filter or something.
