First, I am sorry to send this to non-Sebring people, but I had to re-install everything on my computer and haven't added my Sebring list yet, so I have to use the miata list. Okay, I was having the problem with my Sebring belt rubbing and wearing out. Well, I few people suggested that my idler pulley bracket is not installed correctly and I have been told to try to adjust it so the top is horizontal not on an angle. Well, from what I remember there wasn't much room for adjustment so I don't think this will help but I am going to try. I also got an email from someone saying I might have the wrong bracket and this got me to thinkin'. The only missing part in my kit was the idler pulley bracket, and when I finally got the missing bracket, I noticed that the Sebring directions had a drawing of the idler bracket that was different than what I got. The one in the drawing had a step in it, mine is more of a trapazoid (going from memory here). While I don't think the step is a big deal, maybe the mounting holes are also in a different place. Does anyone else know if there bracket was different than the drawing, or is the drawing of a 1.6L bracket and maybe the 18.'s are different? Also, When my belt comes off of the crank pulley (going towards the idlers) it runs very close to the pulley above the crank on the engine. This pulley has a raised center part and this is very close (if not touching) my SC belt. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks, -Matt 96M Sebring
