From: (none) Subject: rain driving & topping at speed Date: (none)
a couple things to note about putting the top up or down from the driver's seat (particularly while driving): - arm length isn't the only factor - some others include arm position (related to height and size/shape of body) and seating position (usually related to leg length). - i can put the top up or down from the driver's seat, but i have to twist and stretch a little, and this makes it difficult to do so (safely) while driving. i can put the top down at speed (typically under 40mph), but sometimes i end up dropping it the last few inches, which can be undesirable. putting the top up at speed is not really an option for me, since i don't feel i can do so safely. that's ok, it only takes 30-60 seconds to pull over, put it up, and get going again. as for rain: i often drive in light rain (works best at highway speeds, below 40mph you can get a bit wet). last summer, i pushed my luck too far in thunderstorm territory, and got totally drenched. due to traffic & the road, couldn't pull over for about a mile. a minute can be A LONG TIME when it's pouring cats & dogs! :-) oh well, what's a little water... you can't take these things too seriously! -- Ken Buck /| Internet: kbuck@peritus.com \'o.O' ACK!
