Well, the car is FINALLY back in my garage where it belongs. Best damn birthday present I've ever had! After driving the P.O.S Geo Metro for two weeks makes me REALLY appreciate the Miata. How does the rest of the world deal with boring cars? The texture material that was used on the front fender was sanded down and repainted and clear coated. It looks MUCH better now. The car drives just fine. About the only problems so far are: (1) Headlights not aimed. Easily fixed this AM (2) CRI Driving lights misaligned. Easily fixed this PM (3) CRI Airhorns installed incorrectly and possibly damaged. When the shop re-assembled the front of the car, they stuck the compressor and horns on the same side of the car. I think that the air hose may be kinked, cause the compressor makes a lot more noise than the horns do now.. (4) Slightly off-center steering wheel. Not a big problem, but slightly annoying. I had planned on a 'performance alignment' this winter anyway, so no biggee.. The car tracks straight and handles just as well as before. The total estimate came in at some $3,700!! Not counting the CRI Driving lights or Hella's that were replaced. They cut me a check for those. So now the car goes back to Corky for a new blower bracket and re-tuning. Hopefully I'll get to use the car on Monday for a 300+ mile shakedown to Bryan-College station and back! Greg
