Well...Rebecca Zook has since said the same thing about her Moss lift strut so I don't think so (Thanks Rebecca!). The instructions said to remove the torsion bar connected to the driver's side trunklid hinge. This leaves the "hook" to which the bar was attached hanging freely by its pivot. Then you are supposed to swing the hook so that it is aligned with the hinge arm and drill a hole in the hinge arm right through the eye of the "hook". This spot is not variable, and I do not see more than one way to do this. A ball post is mounted in the hole and the strut snaps onto it. The other end can only be mounted one way, and is not adjustable. Drilling a new hole farther back on the hinge arm (toward the front of the car) would cause it to raise the lid farther, but I think that the lid might not close, since the strut might then compress to its limit before the lid is fully closed. I will have to let someone close me up in the trunk to see if I can feel whether the strut will compress further to be sure. Yeah right. One more thing, the strut expands smoothly until it is about 80 percent open, then it stutters a bit before finishing. No big deal, but it kind of spoils the "ahhhhhh" effect when I press my remote button. I was wondering if this might indicate a problem with the strut but I really doubt it. If I got the Brainstorm kit would I have to redrill the hole in a different place? Thanks again, Ben Lawrence And who said "length doesn't matter", anyway?
