Now I have your attention...

My 92 SE Has (had) the Nardi wood gear and handbrake handles.

I think they are rather tacky (IMO!) and have already replaced the gear 

lever.

I ordered a standard black cover from Mazda to replace the handbrake, but 

cannot for the life of me work out how to get the current one off. Has 

anyone tried this? Please tell me I don't have to replace the whole 

handle!
