What would you suggest? While it's not inexpensive and does have a lot of very nice conveniences (options), I'm delighted with Radio Shack's TRC-232. It's compact (palm-sized) & easy to use. It has a very heavy-duty, coiled, power/antenna cord. It's easy to read in the sun (top down) and has a lighted face option for night reading. It has a setting-locking feature, which helps avoid accidently changing the channel during group tours. It has a low power switch, so you don't get message distortion when broadcasting at close quarters. It also has a dual channel feature so you can use a chat channel and essential directions channel, at the same time, during a tour. I had an inexpensive & compact (about twice the size of the TRC-232) Uniden before, but the power cord kept breaking at the radio! Very frustrating with a group of Miatas on a long tour. I also bought Radio Shack's black fiberglass, magnetic base, antenna. A friend tuned it this week and said it had the highest performance characteristics, he's encountered. Bill Allen Seattle
