Both a turbocharger and a supercharger offer "forced" induction. The turbo

is driven by the exhaust gases exiting through the exhaust manifold and the

supercharger is driven by a belt off of the front of the engine. They both

act like large volume pumps, forcing air into the combustion chamber.
