If you're from a largely >metropolitan area, have lived there your whole life, are used to it, etc., >don't move to a remote area where you have to drive 90 minutes to feel like >you're in civilization. Now, now. . .I did just this. . .although it wasn't to a whole other state. I moved from Dallas (born there, grew up there, went to college there) to Granbury, population 5000. . .2 hours SW of Ft. Worth. It takes 20 minutes just to get to a grocery store. We can't get pizza delivered to the house. .40 minutes to a mall. . .but, deer and wild turkey wander through the yard. I can see the Brazos River from where I sit right now (Ok, I have to stand up). . .I DON'T MISS DALLAS TRAFFIC! We always have to drive an extra 40 minutes more than everyone else just to get to a meeting place for a Miata Club event. . .but hey, It just means we get to drive our Miatas more. Plus, in flat Texas, we have some major curvy backroads less than 2 miles away.
