Miata Fans: I realize this may not be a appropriate place to post this message, but I figure someone might really be missing out if I don't make the announcement here. I have a 1991 Monster Miata I would like to sell. I need to sell the car to help pay for my costly graduate educaiton. The car is in an immaculate condition inside and out. Recently I have even taken the car to local car shows. The only cosmetically blemishes on the car are a 1/4” cigarette burn hole on the driver’s seat (I don’t smoke--no thanks to my idiotic and smoking friend) and a very very minor dent on the lower panel just behind the front left wheel. Despite its age, the paint still feels brand new. It’s waxed every weekend and has only been rained on 3 times during its entire life. Furthermore, the car has always been garaged. The car is drivable as a daily commuter, as I have done occasionally through the treacherous downtown L.A. traffic. The car is so scarily fast that I have hardly driven the car in full-throttle position. On weekends I enjoin taking a light cruise in the Hollywood & Beverly Hills areas preying on unsuspecting Ferraris & Porsches. Even though I have nitrous installed, I have only used it a few times just to make sure that it is fully functional. The pure exhilaration of the little Monster’s neck-snapping acceleration capabilities is imminently satisfying enough even without the nitrous. A friend of mine has a turbo installed in his stock engine. It does not even begin to compare. For servicing, most of your local Ford dealers or mechanics can easily handle the transmission and engine. As I have loved the so very much, it pains me much to have to sell it. So if anyone is interested, I would appreciate someone with some real enthusiasm for such a precious jewel. So if you are NOT seriously interested, please do NOT bother to make offers or inquiries. As I already indicated, it’s painful enough having to reach this difficult decision, I don’t need people asking unecessary questions at this point to aggregate the agony. But if you do have questions you must ask, I would be glad to answer some general questions regarding the car in a few weeks after (hopefully) I sell the car; or after I acquire a good sense of what is likely to happen to the car. Finally, I am asking $22,000 for the car (gulp, that’s only one year worth of tuition). Here is how I arrived at that approximate number: - local market value without conversion: $10,000 - Monster conversion in San Diego without transporation cost & with your own donner car $20,000 - Additional chasis, audio & engine mods $ 4,000 - total value $34,000 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< - asking $22,000 (difference in value: $12,000) With the depreciation cost already applied to the car itself, the additional $12,000 is like paying for the Monster conversion & all the additional modications at 50% off. I believe it should be a reasonable offer. Otherwise, please contact me via emails first & I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. Please feel free to include your telephone number. At the mean time, I am also working hard on other alternatives to keeps to car....
